Techno Wave: History & Legacy

Riding the waves of history:
The Story of Techno Wave Boat Building

Nestled in the heart of Bangladesh’s shipbreaking yards where the world’s largest vessels meet their end. A visionary legacy thrives carving a name for itself in the global maritime industry. Techno Wave small but a mighty company founded in 1996 by the innovative Qazi Abdul Lateef. That has transformed Bangladesh’s coastal economy, giving a second life to salvaged lifeboats from broken ship and blending history with luxury.

A Visionary’s Dream Itself

When Qazi Abdul Lateef first walked the bustling shores of Chattogram’s shipbreaking yards he saw not just the rusting remnants of massive ocean liners but untapped potential. Inspired by the rich tradition of Dutch sloep boats luxury vessels deeply embedded in European maritime history. He imagined a way to breathe new life into these forgotten lifeboats.
From oil tankers to passenger ships, salvaged lifeboats were carefully selected and meticulously reimagined under Lateef’s guidance. He envisioned a future where these lifeboats once tools of survival would glide through serene waters as symbols of craftsmanship, heritage and luxury.

Crafting Elegance From Salvage

The journey of each Techno Wave boat begins in the hands of skilled artisans who embody generations of craftsmanship. Rebuilt from their sturdy salvaged cores the boats retain their robust maritime origins but are reborn with sleek fiberglass hulls modern diesel engines and opulent teakwood finishes sourced from the finest Burmese teak.

Over the years, Techno Wave has perfected its process, ensuring that every boat is a masterpiece. By 2025 the company had built over 200 luxury sloep boats gracing the waters of The Netherlands, England, Croatia, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Spain, even as far as Curacao and the USA.

Each boat with its handcrafted touches tells a story of resilience, innovation, and timeless elegance.

The Next Wave

In 2014 the torch was passed to Qazi Abdul Lateef’s son Kazi Mahtab Uddin, fondly called Tansen. Under his stewardship Techno Wave evolved from a company rebuilding lifeboats into a full fledged luxury sloep manufacturer. With the introduction of entirely new fiberglass hulls and interiors.

Tansen eliminated the need for wood in structural fabrication, ensuring unparalleled durability and a rot free lifespan. At the heart of Techno Wave’s appeal is its bespoke craftsmanship. Each boat is customizable blending modern wood working techniques with classic design.

Whether it’s a deck polished to perfection with Burmese teak, polyster fabrication or a state of the art Yanmar diesel engine, Techno Wave offers reliability and beauty in every detail.
